L.J. Bryant, a Democrat, is running for commissioner of state lands. He is a real estate licensee and owns Jackson Hewett Tax Service in Jonesboro. Bryant will run in the May 18 primary against Mike Berg and Monty Davenport. The winner of that race will face Republican John Thurston in the November general election.

Arkanas Attorney General Dustin McDaniel stopped by the Arkansas Realtors Association to visit with the Arkansas Political Action Committee (ARPAC) to talk about his achievements in his first term, his office's role in consumer protection and not having a major party opponent in the upcoming elections. ARPAC supports McDaniel, a Democrat, in this year's elections.
