William B. Olson, of the Batesville Board of REALTORS®, was chosen among very respectable local board and association Realtors® of the Year as the 2017 Arkansas Realtor® of the Year on Tuesday, September 20, 2017. The banquet was held during the Arkansas Realtors® Association’s 93rd Annual Convention at the Little Rock Marriott Hotel. The Arkansas Realtors® Association is honored to have Bill representing our state this year.

The banquet spotlighted the Realtors® of the Year from all the local Realtor® Boards and Associations around the State, and recognized their services over the past year.  The Realtor® of the Year criteria is set by the National Association of Realtors® and includes service to the community, business accomplishments, service to the local, state and national Realtor® organizations, and adherence to the Realtor® spirit of honesty and fair play in all life experiences.

Bill is the Principle Broker of The Property Shoppe in Batesville. Bill has been in the real estate industry since 2000. Since beginning his real estate career, Bill puts a great deal of importance on real estate education and furthering his knowledge in the industry. Bill holds a designation in the Graduate REALTOR® Institute, is a Certified Residential Specialist, and an Accredited Buyer Representative.

Bill is heavily involved in his local community and continuously focuses the light on the REALTOR® brand.  He is a Rotary Paul Harris Fellow and board member for both Main Street Batesville and Habitat for Humanity. Bill is member of the Batesville Preservation Association and Chamber of Commerce. He is a community parent of an international Lyon College student and currently hosts The Monday Morning Breakfast Club for local high school students. He is a part of the Olson Team local soup kitchen at St. Paul’s Episcopal every Wednesday night.

Bill is the current President of the Batesville Board of REALTORS®, as well as Chair of both the Legislative Committee and Education Committee. He is a “Gold Level” recipient in the Arkansas REALTORS® Association Awards of Excellence Program. Bill is a Past President of the Arkansas REALTORS® Association and currently serving as a Director-At-Large on the Board of Directors. Bill serves as a Board Member of Arkansas REALTORS® Association 501© (3) charitable organization, Hearts and Homes; as well as the Chairman of the Public Relations Committee, where he helped to raise $192,456.30 for Special Olympics in 2017. He serves as an ARPAC Trustee and is a Sterling R Investor.  Bill serves on the National Association’s Membership Policy and Board Jurisdiction Committee and is the FPC for Congressman Rick Crawford.

Each year, there are an amazing group of individuals from all around the state of Arkansas who not only excel in their business, but are heavily invested in their communities and civic organizations. This is the first time that the award has been given to someone in our area, so I am very proud to have been selected as the recipient this year. I will be attending the National Association of Realtors® Convention in Chicago in November, and will very honored to represent the State of Arkansas” says Bill Olson.

The Arkansas Realtors® Association is the state’s professional and trade association for persons in real estate.  It is the umbrella group for Arkansas’ local Realtor® Boards over the state and in turn is the state arm of the National Association of Realtors®, which has headquarters in Chicago and Washington, D.C.  Members of the local, state and national groups subscribe to a strict Code of Ethics and are identified by the registered term, “Realtor®.”
