The Arkansas REALTORS® Association is continuing this year’s storm relief efforts by extending their storm relief program, in partnership with the REALTORS® Relief Foundation, to cover families affected by storms and flooding occurring throughout the month of April. Any Arkansas resident that has been affected by these storms and flooding is welcome to apply for up to$1,000 in grant funds. Funds are awarded to cover housing-related expenses, such as lease and mortgage payments.

Board members of Hearts & Homes of Arkansas, Inc., an ARA-affiliated charity, and REALTOR® volunteers will offer computer access and assistance in filling out applications at command centers – yet to be established, more information to come. Applications are to be submitted to disaster@arkansasrealtors.com. All applications must be complete in order to be reviewed. Incomplete applications cannot and will not be reviewed by the Board of Directors. If approved, checks will be mailed in the following weeks. Please read below for specific instructions on required documentation and applicant eligibility.

Access the application here.

In order to be eligible for this grant, you must have had damage to your home due to the storms beginning April 2nd. If you rent your home, you must have been displaced from your home due to the damage in order to qualify for the grant.

Incomplete applications will not be accepted or reviewed. Incomplete applications will be denied.

Situations in which individuals qualify for aid:

-         If you own your home and you are paying a mortgage and your home was damaged due to the storms beginning April 2nd

-         If you own your home outright and your home was damaged due to the storms beginning April 2nd

-         If you rent your home and were displaced due to damage from the storms beginning April 2nd

If you rent your home and are not displaced, you are ineligible for aid. You must have been displaced from your home and provide a new lease agreement or temporary housing receipts to be considered for grant funds.

Applicants must be able to show proof of residency, whether it be through a driver’s license, utility bill, or other means.

Photos of damage are required.

No grant applications will be processed without accompanying photos. These will not be requested from you after the application is submitted. They must accompany the original application.
